Seneca Insurance Brokers Ltd trading as SHARE (FSP36747 ) holds a full licence issued by the Financial Markets Authority to provide financial advice. We provide advice to our clients about their general insurance needs across both personal and business risks. As part of our Financial Advice Provider Licence we are also required to provide you with additional information on:

  • Our Advisers and Advice Process.

  • The Insurers we work with and how we are remunerated.

  • How we manage and mitigate conflicts of interest.

  • Our Complaints Process should some thing go wrong.

While we remain a separate entity trading as SHARE we are closely aligned to the SHARE network of advisers and follow common processes in order to deliver a high quality of advice to our clients.

Understand you and your needs

Whether you’re an individual, a business, or a family, by getting to know you, and what’s going on in your world, we'll put the right cover in place.

Undertake our analysis and quote

A key part of our advice process is to undertake an analysis of your needs, the available insurance options. After that, we’ll engage with insurers to provide these options and negotiate on your behalf.

Present our recommendations

We’ll make a recommendation based on your needs along with the available options. While this might have some complexities we’ll take the time to walk you through it and answer any questions.

Implement what’s agreed.

Once you’re happy with what we’ve recommended and understand it, we’ll put in place the covers we agreed and provide evidence for those decisions.

We’ll be there as things change

Your insurance protection should be reviewed as things change and we’ll do this on an annual basis as part of our advice process with you or more regularly if you notify us of changes. We will work hard to ensure the cover still meets your needs.

Our Advisers.

Our team is made up of Financial Advisers providing specialist general insurance risk management and general insurance advice to clients across New Zealand. They also have a team skilled in supporting them & managing claims.  Our Financial Advisers prioritise our clients’ interests above their own by following our advice process that ensures our recommendations are made on the basis of each client’s circumstances. To ensure we continue to act in your best interest we’ve taken some additional steps:

  • Our Financial Advisers are paid a salary income with any bonuses based on business KPI’s rather than individual accounts.

  • We abide by the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services

  • All our Financial Advisers and their support team undergo ongoing professional development and annual training about how to manage conflicts of interest.

  • We undertake a compliance audit, and a review of our compliance programme is undertaken annually.

Seneca Insurance Brokers Ltd t/a SHARE, and anyone who gives financial advice on our behalf, have duties under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 relating to the way that we give advice. We are required to:

  • Give priority to your interests by taking all reasonable steps to make sure our advice isn’t materially influenced by our own interests

  • Exercise care, diligence, and skill in providing you with advice

  • Meet standards of competence, knowledge and skill set by the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services (these are designed to make sure that we have the expertise needed to provide you with advice)

  • Meet standards of ethical behaviour, conduct and client care set by the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services (these are designed to make sure we treat you as we should, and give you suitable advice).
